One of the best ways to drive inspiration and innovation is to look at other models of success. For this website, we’ll be looking at some examples of knowledge structuring, sharing, and monetization success.
Transparent websites and organizations share plenty of information about their operations and what people can gain from them. An excellent example is the Open Philanthropy Project, which shares its findings openly. It resembles our organization because they identify altruistic focus areas, do short writeups on them, and select and prioritize certain focus areas. We aim to do the same.
80,000 Hours is another organization which shares highly valuable information for free. Other websites in the goal achievement space do not mirror their research quality, but are highly popular and sometimes monetized. A monetized example is Bulletproof, which targets executives and sells health products and knowledge products, and a non-monetized example is ZenHabits, which gives all of its information away for free.
Farnam Street has done a good job of integrating a paid community with their free content offerings.
